Ingredients for Tasty Maharashtra Kande Pohe or Poha recipe
1 bowl ( around 200 grms) thick Flattend Rice/poha
2 medium size onion
1 tbsp mustard seeds
1 and half tbsp cumin seeds
1 big onion
3 tbsp oil
half small cup raw peanuts
2-3 green chilies
2 strands curry leaves
salt to taste
1 tbsp sugar
lemon and fresh coconut
How to make ?
Step 1: wash poha 2 to 3 times in cold water. Here we are taking thick poha which needs to wash 2-3 times , if you are taking thin poha , wash it only once taking lot of water in big vessel. Drain all water from poha after washing and keep to rest for 10 mins.
Step 2: Now finely chop onion , green chilies and coriander leaves. Cut lemon into 4 pieces and scrape fresh coconut.
Step 3: Heat oil in kadhai. We need to keep oil temperature medium hot to prepare our poha. once oil become hot add peanuts . Fry peanuts until they become golden brown and crispy and then take them out.
Step 4: Now in same oil add curry leaves ,mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter up.
Step 5: Add finely chopped green chilies, turmeric and onion. Saute it until onion become pinkies in color. Once onion starts to turn light brown add soaked poha into it and turn the flame low.
Step 6: Now add chopped coriander and fried peanuts and mix it well. keep it on low flame for 1 min covering the kadhai. After 1 min again mix it together and turn off the flame.
Step 7: Now transfer it to plate and garnish with coriander and fresh coconut crush.
(Tip- If you wanted soft poha then dont keep it on gas for more time. If you found it is not soft and difficult to eat ,you can sprinkle bit water on poha and and mix it.)
